Hey, y’all!
As I’ve gotten older (p.s. my birthday is coming up) life has felt more routine and nuanced. Or maybe my nervous system finally decided to chill out—who knows? Anyway, how has the start of your year been?
My students come back this week, and while I’m geared up and ready for the classroom, there are definitely a few things I need to prep in my daily wellness. Can I share some of my hacks that are helping me transition from the long break into being productive every day? Let’s get into it:
1. My Medicine
Y’all, I started Zoloft, and let me tell you—it’s been a journey. Over the break, I realized I needed a little extra help managing my anxiety, so your girl is now three weeks in. Is this normal? I’m figuring it out. But honestly, getting help feels okay, even good. I just want a clearer path forward, especially since I interact with so many people every day. I’m excited to bring you along on this journey, so stay tuned! As someone who tried Lexapro last year- I was scared because that was no bueno!
2. My Planner
I used a planner for an entire year in 2023, and wow, what a game changer. Turns out, I’m less of a free spirit and more of a structured spirit—anyone else? This year, I grabbed the cutest Rifle Paper Co. planner, and I’m obsessed. If you’re looking to stay on top of your life this year, let’s do this together. Grab one, and let’s get organized! I put everything in there- like I am not kidding – routine is needed.
3. My Sleep Routine
Okay, real talk: I don’t have a solid sleep routine, and as an adult, I really need one. No parents here to hold my hand through it—it’s on me now. I know it’s going to make a difference for my health, so I’m committing to figuring it out. Do you have a sleep routine? Drop your tips in the comments because I need all the help I can get!
That’s my little wellness update from my room to yours. I’d love to hear how you’re doing—let’s chat in the comments!
With love,
Teisha
