Adopted Black Girl

Turning Silence into Space

In 2019, I looked around and saw a void. In the vast world of resources, narratives, and support systems, the voices of Black adopted girls, women, and Black youth in foster care were missing. We were there, but we weren’t being heard.

My journey is unique. I am a product of kinship adoption, adopted by my cousin. For a long time, that specific experience felt muted. In the complexity of family ties and legal shifts, my voice—and voices like mine—became a whisper.

I created this space because promises should be kept.
I believe that every Black girl navigating the adoption or foster care system deserves to see herself reflected in the resources she uses. This platform is more than just a website; it’s a digital and physical community forum designed to foster encouragement and provide a clear path forward.

The Mission:
Visibility: To center the specific experiences of Black girl/women adoptees and foster youth.
Community: Building forums where we transition from “surviving” to “thriving.”
Reclamation: Helping you do the hard, beautiful work of getting to know yourself again.
It’s time to unmute. It’s time to move forward.

Welcome to a space where you are seen, heard, and empowered.
